Sample Data
Sample data and facts about the automotive aftermarket service concepts in Europe:
22% of all garages in Europe are driven by concepts
1) the garage service concepts are partner systems driven by buying groups, wholesalers, parts manufacturers or others. Most of the concept systems are based on partnership-contracts and only in few cases concepts are based on “real franchising”.
The most of the concepts (64%) belongs to specialized garages
In some regions service concepts are very well developed. In other regions service concepts almost do NOT exist. In Germany there are 30 mechanical concepts and 62% of all independent full service repairers take part in one of the service systems/chains. For comparison: in Russia and in Baltic countries service concepts are not established - in Russia there are only two mechanical concepts, and in Latvia and Lithuania only Bosch Car Service. In Germany you will find larger outlets and higher garage density.
Number of concepts in the European countries:
In Europe as a whole, approximately 27% of all independent mechanical garages are partners of one of these service concepts. In the tyres market the service concept share is much higher - 50%.
In the auto glass aftermarket the concept share is about 66%, the highest.
The lowest concept share, 10%, we found in the target group of body and paint garages.
